This is a follow up from yesterday's post on large sweaters. I love the texture of this one and how comfy it is. I've had this thick black belt forever, probably since middle school, but it literally goes with everything.

Tia is still on her way in learning to take pictures... I'm gonna try to teach her some other creative ways to use the camera. We took these shots quickly before Daniel and I went to a birthday party. I found this dress at my new favorite store, No Rest for Bridget. Tia and I decided to share the dress and splurge a little while we were shopping (: That's the other nice thing about having a sister... we wear the same size so it's twice the wardrobe!

Best Buddies Wine Tasting

My parents had a wine tasting fundraiser for a foundation called Best Buddies last weekend. Best Buddies helps out children with intellectual disabilities. Cinquain Cellars brought their wine for everyone to sample and enjoy on a summer evening. My Dad has done a great job by raising over $6400 for the Best Buddies foundation. He is now in fourth place as a fundraiser behind Maria Shriver!

1. Trying out a new look: scarves wrapped around as a headband. This scarf is my mom's, but I also found two for $5 each at my local vintage store. Such a good deal!

sizzle my summer

One of my favorite shoots from the other day. I got a friend to do this for me even though she was so shy about it! She did a great job modeling and I'm very happy with how they turned out. I played around with colors a little more in photoshop and added a bunch of fill layers.

kabuki

I guess when you have a blog one thing you really have to get used is all the pictures of yourself. I just have to accept the fact that my face looks so awkward in half of them... Anyways, Tia and I went to dinner at kabuki tonight and took some quick shots. The sweater I'm wearing goes with so many things, but unfortunately I didn't get a good picture of it. I wear it a lot so I'm sure it will show up in the future.

Oh by the way, my new 50mm f1.8 canon lens came in the mail today! We used it in this shot, and I am officially obsessed. Thanks Amazon.com!

Forever 21 everything...
Wore this to go see Transformers 3 (which was surprisingly an awesome movie, way better than the 2nd one). With this kind of outfit I usually pair it with a silver or black belt, but decided to go for something different. That skirt was only $3 from Forever 21 and is one of my favorite purchases.. it literally goes with anything.

Took some pictures of Tia outside on her skateboard while my parents were working on landscaping our house. It's been awhile since I've just skated around the neighborhood. It brought back memories of past summers and made me feel lucky to be able to enjoy where I live.

Our two day trip to Catalina was so relaxing. The weather was surprisingly perfect, since it's usually a hit and miss there. We spent most of the time eating, along with paddle boarding, mini golfing, sunbathing, and a golf cart adventure. I was disappointed that the zip lining was all booked, but that is definitely something for next time.
